Frits de Vries Architect Ltd. is a small firm with a mix of project types, primarily single-family residential, and also including multi-family residential, retail and hospitality projects.

We are looking for an Architect or Graduate with between 5 and 10 years office experience for a full time position.

Position:

The successful candidate will be capable of leading projects, but also of working in a collaborative environment. He / she will be working on multiple projects. Our current projects are primarily custom single family residential, so an interest in this sector is appreciated.

The following skills are required:

• minimum 5 years of architectural office experience, including building permit drawings;
• Experience with zoning bylaws and the BC Building Code and / or the Vancouver Building Bylaw;
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Effective communication skills

The following skills are an asset:

• Vectorworks experience;
• Interest in sustainability
• Sketchup experience
• Preference will be given to those with local experience or experience in similar climates.

BESHARAT FRIARS Architects are seeking a candidate to enter our energetic design-oriented studio located in downtown Vancouver. The individual joining us will be working directly with the principals of the firm and will have the opportunity to work in all phases of our varied Residential, Industrial and Commercial portfolio.

In this position, the candidate will be exposed to all facets of architectural practice in a smaller-scale full-service firm. An essential asset, and the initial emphasis, will be the ability to develop 3D renderings using REVIT or SKETCHUP to assist in the development and presentation of our designs. The successful applicant will have:

• an Architectural Degree, or Architectural Technology Diploma
• high degree of proficiency in the use of REVIT (alternately, a good working knowledge of SKETCHUP)
• good communications skills

Established small practice specialized in custom single family projects in Vancouver West areas.

• At least 5 years post graduate experience.
• Intensive work history in City of Vancouver RS-1, RS-3, RS-5 , FSD  Zoning projects.
• Excellent verbal , written  and graphic communication skills.
• Both design development and contract documents ability.
• Proficient in Archicad  BIM software highly preferred. Experience in  Vectorworks on Mac would  also be considered.
• Must have BC driving license.
