Current work includes civic, cultural, transportation and academic buildings, together with several single and multi-family residential projects.

The position (about you)

We are looking to expand our team to include a CAD/BIM/IT Specialist. We believe that efficient and coordinated systems for project design and documentation and are key to the success of a project. As the CAD/BIM/IT Specialist, you will work closely with our leadership and project teams to develop, refine and maintain CAD, BIM and IT standards through the office. We see this as a highly collaborative role where excellent communication, organizational and planning skills will be the foundation to streamlining and optimizing the documentation of design work and ensuring digital operations run smoothly on a day to day basis.

Tasks and Responsibilities (what you will do)
Responsibilities – BIM / CADD
1. Develop a working knowledge of our architectural practice and implement BIM processes to suit our specific workflows.
2. Work with the omb CAD group to create and document best practices and present to the firm.
3. Collaborate with omb groups to develop and progress digital process’s and technology.
4. Coordinate with omb CAD group for ongoing template development; develop and refine 2D and 3D families, schedules and other template elements for the office library.
5. Develop scripts for design and efficiency workflows.
6. Develop, maintain and execute a BIM execution plan.
7. Collaborate with project teams and develop project specific BIM implementation strategies
8. Develop and execute drawing and model quality assurance and quality control strategies including model reviews, maintenance and adherence to omb standards.
9. Coordinate with project leads and consultants regarding model exchanges.
10. Develop and implement workflow for clash detection in models.
11. Review drawings and models before major milestones for conformance with BIM execution plan and omb standards.
12. Provide support for end users, in house and external.
13. Participate in forums and user groups on OMB’s behalf
14. Actively research and relay current trends and development of technology to the firm.

Responsibilities – IT Support
1. Organize and maintain office hardware
2. Assist in the physical set up of computer stations and other hardware
3. Trouble shoot basic software and hardware issues with staff
4. Coordinate with our current IT provider.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (what you have)
1. Demonstrated experience and ability in Revit, Autocad, Dynamo, Vray.
2. Some knowledge or willingness to learn Vectorworks, Rhino, Sketchup, Grasshopper, Lumion, Enscape, 3DS max, Navisworks, Adobe suite, Microsoft Office Suite.
3. 5-10 years experience working in Revit
4. Experience working in an Architecture firm
5. Certificate or Diploma in a CAD program or associated AEC program.
6. Strong training and presentation skills (suitable for one on one and group settings)
