Your Key Responsibilities:
An opportunity exists for an Architecture Coop Student in our Vancouver office. Your responsibility is to work as part of our project team, with your voice added to that of the team, under the guidance and mentorship of your more senior peers. Responsibilities will be diverse and may range from the preparation of design drawings, studies, research, presentation materials, 3D modeling, and technical drawings.

An opportunity exists for an Architecture Coop Student within our Vancouver (Gastown) Formosis Architecture Team.

  • Conducts basic interpretations of sketches, drawings, codes, building program and other similar material.
  • Supports project team in development of design documentation.
  • Assists in the development of a design through sketches, physical models, and electronic models. Diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.

Capabilities and credentials:

  • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCad; Prefer experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUP. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • To engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Detail oriented team player and the ability to work independently as required.

Education and experience:

  • Currently enrolled in the architecture co-op or equivalent post-secondary program with availability for a minimum 4-month internship.

Who you are:

  • 5 – 8 years architectural production/design
  • Registered Architect AIBC or Registered Intern Architect AIBC
  • Master’s Degree in Architecture
  • 4+ years’ experience with REVIT is required
  • Local experience is required
  • LEED AP is an asset
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project and Adobe Suite
  • Retail/commercial experience is a definite asset
  • Candidates must be able to lead projects with minimal supervision, manage teams, coordinate consultants and work directly with clients
  • Strong leadership experience in establishing scope, and directing the work of professional architects and technical staff on multiple projects

  • Follow up on outstanding invoices from clients

  • Input deposit information and perform bank deposits
  • Data entry of all Architectural drawing print outs into ArchiOffice for invoicing purposes

Required Qualifications

  • Interest in the Architectural Industry favorable
  • Administrative and accounting experience is an asset
  • Minimum 3yrs experience in a similar position
  • A self-motivated worker who works effectively with minimal supervision
